Quinta do Noval is one of the almost iconic port wine houses with a tradition that dates back to 1715. The absolute pinnacle of what is qualitatively achievable. This is not only due to their hardly available vintage port "Nacional", a micro-production from ungrafted vines, which has repeatedly received 100/100 points from Parker's Wine Advocate, which the "normal" 1997 vintage port, by the way were also granted.
Everything from Quinta do Noval is great today. This is mainly based on the company AXA Millésimes, which took over Noval in 1993 and invested heavily to reach the absolute top. AXA Millésimes includes top wineries, especially in France, such as the famous Bordeaux-Château Pichon-Baron (Pauillac), Suduiraut (Sauternes) and Petit-Villages in Pomerol.
At Quinta do Noval you get first-class wines in every price league. Also outside of the port wine, for which the winery is mainly famous, there is now an impressive portfolio of normal white and red wines from the Douro Valley in northern Portugal, which belong to the top of the region. The neighboring winery Quinta do Passadouro has also belonged to Quinta do Noval since 2019. Passadouro's Passa red is a dry red wine with a sensational price-benefit ratio. Try!
