Grüner Veltliner is something like the vine variety of Austria par excellence. With almost 30% of the vineyard surface, it is the most cultivated variety in Austria. The Grüner Veltliner has the largest surface in the wine regions of Lower Austria (Wachau, Kremstal, Kamptal, Traisental, Wagram, Weinviertel and Carnuntum) and the northern Burgenland. Outside of Austria the Veltliner is scarcely widespread, even if its adherence to German winemakers is steadily growing. Gruner Veltliner is a very productive variety and therefore needs strict limits on yield to produce remarkable wines. That is why the taste of the variety is also very large, from the easy-to-drink light wine to world class level, everything is possible.
