Levante

The Levante (Spain) begins south of Catalonia and runs along the entire east coast of Spain. The dominant vine in terms of quality is the red Monastrell (= Mourvedre), which produces the best results in this very warm and extremely dry region. The DO Cultivation zones are Alicante, Bullas, Jumilla, Utiel-Requena, Valencia and Yecla.
