The wine region Navarra is located in the northeast of Spain. Today, about 18,500 hectares of vineyards are planted, sharing 127 bodegas (= wineries). Qualitatively, Navarra can often compete with its famous neighbor, the Rioja. In terms of price, the Navarra wines are much cheaper and therefore an attractive purchase. Traditionally, the red grape varieties dominate here, but there are also very good white wines from the native Viura vine and more and more from Chardonnay, which brings excellent results with or without barrique.
