At Quinta do Noval they have been breaking new ground in the declaration of Vintage Port for several years. This is now available practically every year because there are always excellent grapes in vintage quality and it is believed that they can then be bottled as such with their own vintage character. Only the quantities differ significantly depending on the vintage.
2021 was a vintage with a medium amount of vintage port at Quinta do Noval. There were around 18,000 bottles of it, which of course isn't that much given the global demand for this top port.
The 2021 Quinta do Noval Vintage Port has an enchanting fragrance, it gives the impression of ripe and juicy grapes. This is confirmed on the palate, despite all its opulence, the wine has a good bite on the palate, here again great juicy fruit and an impressive length in the finish. This is already a lot of fun, even though 70-80 years of development are possible in the bottle.
Unfortunately, there are not many reviews for this port that has just been released (as of March 2024), the Wine Spectator awards it 95/100.
