Veneto (Italian Veneto) has a vineyard area of about 75,000 hectares, it is the third-largest wine-growing region in Italy. The dominant white grape variety is the Garganega, followed by Pinot Bianco and Trebbiano. Also important is the Glera variety used for Prosecco production, and Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay. The extreme diversity of Veneto is testified by over 115,000 wine producers whose vineyard area is less than one hectare on average.
The city of Verona is considered to be the wine center of Italy, where some of the largest wine cellars in Italy are located. The annual wine fair VINITALY is held here. Important white wine DOC (G) wines: Bianco di Custoza, Lugana, Soave and not to be forgotten: the Prosecco DOCG.
