The wine region of Navarra is located in the north-east of Spain. Today approximately 18,500 hectares of vines are planted, which share 127 Bodegas (= Wineries). Qualitatively, Navarre can indeed compete with its famous neighbor, the Rioja. The Navarre wines are much cheaper and therefore an attractive purchase. Traditionally, the red grape variety Garnacha dominates here, the Tempranillo has increased considerably in recent years. Navarra also has very good white wines from the traditional Viura vine and more and more from Chardonnay.
