In the Mediterranean Croatian coastal region with its regions of Istria and Dalmatia, the white wine varieties Malvazija (Istria) and Posip and Vugava (both Dalmatia) are common. Grasevina (=Welschriesling) and Traminac thrive in central Croatia. Of course, international varieties such as Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc are now also being successfully cultivated throughout Croatia.
