The Fels Grüner Veltliner from the Weingut Leth comes from various terraced locations in Fels am Wagram, about 70km northwest of Vienna. It belongs to the "classic range" of the winery, so it is a fresh and fruity dry type of wine.
The grapes for the Fels Grüner Veltliner are carefully harvested by hand and, after gentle pressing, fermented in stainless steel tanks. Natural yeasts are partly used for this, but carefully selected cultured yeasts are also used. The bottling usually takes place in January after the harvest, as one does not want to lose the fruity character through a long aging period.
The wine is organic certified, sustainability has long been a priority at Weingut Leth. For example, people have always used the light glass bottles that are now coming back into fashion. We wholeheartedly support this.
The current vintage of the Fels Klassik Grüner Veltliner beguiles with its aromas reminiscent of ripe apples and quinces, and there is also a little light tobacco and pepper in the scent. It is perfectly balanced on the palate, shows freshness and a medium body, it delivers exactly what you would expect from a Lower Austrian Veltliner, is invigorating and is tremendous drinking pleasure from the first to the last glass. An ideal accompaniment to lighter dishes, snacks, poultry, Wiener schnitzel and river fish.
