The Grüner Veltliner for the Kalmuck Federspiel from the Mauritiushof Gritsch grows on primary rock soils in terraced Wachau vineyards between the communities of Spitz and Loiben. A Veltliner as it should be, the typical lively white wine style of the Wachau, fresh, aromatic, expressive and with plenty of mineral finesse. Combines healthy grape ripeness with the juicy fullness of the very good 2022 vintage. Pure drinking pleasure, a perfect accompaniment to light fish dishes or a snack.
Taster Peter Moser from Falstaff magazine rates the 2023 Kalmuck Grüner Veltliner Federspiel with an impressive 90/100 points and writes: "Light yellow-green. Ripe pome fruit, delicate hints of blossom honey, candied orange zest, a little pineapple, attractive bouquet. Juicy, medium complexity, fine apple notes, salty finish, sticks well, can be used in many ways."
