The Figaro Veltliner got its name from the owner of the vines, a relative of the Salzl family, who's profession is hairdresser. The Gruner Veltliner grown there is fermented and aged in small barrels. The result is a spicy white wine of medium to full, with fine herbal notes and an elegant structure. It therefore does not correspond to the classic taste of a Veltliner, but rather to a cool climate white burgundy.
The 2018 Figaro is unusually full and intense, the fragrance is reminiscent of white fruits such as apples and pears, banana and elderflower can be found, it also has spicy notes such as thyme and juniper berries. Goes very well with light meat, poultry, crustaceans and sushi.
