Peter Moser from Falstaff awards 92/100 points to the 2021 Kirchpoint Grüner Veltliner Federspiel by Gritsch and praises the attractive mineral bouquet with its tropical fruit notes. On the palate he mentions finesse and saltiness, with medium body (which is stylistically typical of a Federspiel). A high praise in this price range.

By the way, the name Kirchpoint does not refer to a single vineyard, but rather a cuvée of vineyards from parcels that have belonged to the Mauritiushof since the 13th century, which at the time belonged to the church of the Bavarian monastery Niederalteich. This very typical Veltliner from the Wachau is of course harvested by hand, then gently pressed and then fermented in temperature-controlled steel tanks.

We recommend this very tasty Wachau wine especially with the typical snack dishes of the Wachau, fish, Wiener Schnitzel, asparagus or vegetables. A lot of fun when drunk young, but can also mature excellently. Depending on your taste.
