Cantina Terlan is one of the absolute top wine producers in South Tyrol. The sometimes widespread rumor, that only small family wineries can climb to the top in terms of quality is definitely refuted here. What was created here under the direction of oenologist Rudi Kofler is sometimes breathtakingly good and very far from what is commonly known from wine cooperatives. In addition to the absolute care taken in cultivation and winemaking, the relatively manageable size of 190 hectares of vineyards is also responsible for this type of operation. Everyone pulls together here, you can taste it. 70% of the production are white wines, 30% red grapes. The classic line are fresh wines with a lot of style and distinctive varietal characteristics, the selections come either from specific vineyards or soil types and are among the best wines that can be found in whole Italy. As a special feature, a rarity is brought onto the market every year that has been aged for at least 10 years and is usually sold out very quickly despite the not low price. The Cantina is proud of the ability of the top wines to mature, which is why they have created an extensive wine archive in which there is said to be a bottle from the foundation year 1893.
