The Gries Riserva is made from particularly high-quality Lagrein grapes in the Terlan winery. Half of the harvest is matured in barriques, around a third of which is new, the other half in traditional large barrels before the final wine is composed.
The 2020 vintage was once again great. Even the dark color heralds a powerful type of red wine. In the scent you can feel the wooden barrel, which combines perfectly with the fruity components. You can perceive sour cherries and plums, as well as cocoa. On the palate it shows a lot of grip, the tannins are very well matured, the wine also has great clarity and spicy notes in the very long finish.
James Suckling awarded the 2018 94/100 points.
