The Siebeneich location has deep clay soils, a terroir on which the Merlot grape variety feels particularly comfortable and delivers top results. We know this from Pomerol. The Terlan Winery is undoubtedly one of the very best wine producers in South Tyrol.
2021 was a vintage of elegance and clear fruit. The temperatures were not as extremely high as in previous years and the grapes had longer time to develop their full aromas.
The Terlan Merlot Siebeneich has a darker ruby red color. Its scent is reminiscent of ripe blackberries, plus it has a delicate herbal note reminiscent of mint and a hint of black pepper. A very playful and fresh-looking bouquet. On the palate it shines with freshness and at the same time depth and substance. The ripe tannins are perfectly integrated, the wine has a considerable length and is perfectly balanced. You can drink it young, but it also develops positively in the bottle for at least 10 years.
