The Nova Domus from the Terlan winery is the Riserva version of the white Terlan cuvée. Like these, it consists primarily of Pinot Bianco, plus a quarter to a third of Chardonnay and 5-10% Sauvignon Blanc. Aging in large wooden barrels takes a long time; the wine sits there on the lees for 12 months, then spends another year in the bottle before it goes on sale.
2021 was a cooler year than the years around it, which were characterized by great summer heat. The Nova Domus 2021 from the Terlan Winery therefore has a lively and fresh style, buffered by the creamy richness of the Chardonnay. A very subtle and exciting white wine for the highest demands.
You can enjoy the Nova Domus when it is released, but it also matures excellently in the bottle. James Suckling already finds it excellent, but is convinced that the wine will not reach its peak until 2025. An incredible 97/100 points for this.
Serve this intense white wine with shellfish, poultry, dishes with cream sauces, mushroom dishes and grilled fish.
