The 2022 vintage will go down in history as one of the earliest harvests. The warmth in spring ensured early budding and as a result everything went off without delay in ripening, so that the first grapes were harvested at the end of August. An unproblematic vintage with very good quality.
The Lagrein grapes are picked by hand at the terlan winery and fermented in steel tanks. The wine then matures in large traditional barrels for seven to ten months, depending on the character of the wine.
The Terlano Lagrein Tradition has the typical dark garnet red color of this grape variety. Its scent contains cranberries, sour cherries, laurel and a delicate note of chocolate. On the palate it is characterized by its abundance of fruit, interspersed with ripe tannins, which give the wine structure in the finale and ensure a fresh mouthfeel. An excellent and very typical Lagrein.
Serve it with bacon and cheese from South Tyrol and stews with red cabbage.
