With Chardonnay Kreuth, the Cantina Terlano does not use barriques during the aging process. This is another way of creating the very interesting Chardonnay, which has a creamy mouthfeel with a mineral elegance. This wine is in contact with the lees for a full 10 months, partly in steel tanks and partly in large barrels, before it is bottled. This long-established and patient method leads to stable wines that can withstand a few years of storage in the bottle - but do not necessarily need to be.
James Suckling awards 93/100: "A graceful chardonnay, whose clarity and originality make it stand out from the crowded Alto Adige and global fields of ambitious wines made from this grape. Just a hint of smoke, but not in an obviously oaky way, the dominant force being the tart-pear character that gives the wine both depth and vitality. Long, clean finish. Drink or hold."
