The origins of this winery date back to 1871 and the name San Silvestro was introduced in 1973. San Silvestro is a typical traditional company in Piedmont. They own seven hectares of their own vines in the Barolo area and process grapes from 40 winegrowers who work according to San Silvestro quality specifications. So you can offer a wide range of typical Piedmontese wines, from Barolo to Barbera, to white wines such as Gavi and Roero Arneis.
The aim is to produce distinctive Piedmontese wines at a fair price and the Sartirano family does this admirably. Today wine is exported to around 30 countries, 88% of the bottles are exported!
