The name Ottone I recalls Otto the First, Grand Emperor of Saxony, one of the protagonists of the legend of Aleramo and his founding of the Monferrato region.
This Barbera is a fruity variant from the DOC Piemonte. The Barbera Ottone I from San Silvestro has a medium ruby red color. Its bouquet is reminiscent of plums and sour cherries, which are typical of this popular grape variety. On the palate it is fruity and harmonious, with beautiful clarity and freshness and a good structure. A very well-made Barbera that puts its origin and varietal typicality in the foreground.
Try it with antipasti, pasta, pizza and white meat and poultry. It almost always fits.
