Pio Cesare is one of the most important traditional wine houses in Piedmont, founded in 1881 by Cesare Pio to produce the finest qualities of Barbaresco and Barolo. He was always concerned with quality, not quantity, which was anything but common at the time. Today the fifth generation in the person of Rosy and Giuseppe Boffa is at work, which has raised the quality of the wines to an unprecedented level, as the awards and reviews of the international wine press testify.
The winery owns 70 hectares of vineyards, including significant parcels in the fillet pieces of the Barolo and Barbareso growing areas, but also first-class Barbera d'Alba and white wines such as Chardonnay and Gavi are bottled here. Pio Cesare wines are now exported to over 50 countries around the world. An ambassador for Piedmontese viticulture. Photos: © 2016 - Pio Cesare, Vigne di Proprietà
