The Kozlovic Santa Lucia Malvazija comes from a particularly old plot in the single vineyard of the same name, whose vines were planted in 1961. These old boys give the wine its very special density and complexity.
After harvesting by hand and subsequent fermentation, the Santa Lucia Malvazija is stored in 50hl wooden barrels for a year and then in steel tanks for a certain period of time before being bottled. Even then it won't go on sale, but will remain in the winery for months or years before it is released.
The Kozlovic Winery guarantees a storage potential of at least 10 years, provided proper storage conditions are met.
The current Santa Lucia Malvazija shows a golden yellow color. Its subtle and open scent has notes of ripe yellow fruits, peaches, ripe citrus, gingerbread spice and a mineral note reminiscent of wet stones. and gentle smoky notes that come from aging in oak barrels. On the palate it is very full-bodied and has an almost creamy texture, as well as being very dense and complex right up to the impressively long finish. Undoubtedly a top wine.
