The dedicated Franz-Josef Gritsch today runs the family estate Gritsch-Mauritiushof under the motto "striving for the best possible". His wines are supposed to have the typical taste of the vineyard and grape variety and particularly the style of the winemaker. The family Gritsch owns the winery, a former reading-house of the monks from Niederaichtal, since 1799. A long tradition, which besides a tremendous experience also brought several vineyards into the portfolio, among them famous names like 1000-Eimerberg, Axpoint , Loibenberg, Singerriedel and Steinporz.
The wines are fermented in the steel tanks and then carefully aged in large traditional wooden barrels until the perfect maturity for bottling. The latest findings and traditional methods of wine-making lead to high-class Wachau wines of the top class .
