The Kozlovic Winery is one of the top producers in Croatia. The family winery has existed since 1904 and is located in the northwestern part of the Istrian peninsula, near the Slovenian border and not too far from the Italian city of Trieste.
Today, Gianfranco and Antonella KOZLOVIĆ run the winery. Not only do their first names show their proximity to Italy, the style of the wines is also reminiscent of nearby Friuli, with their soft juiciness.
The Kozlovic wines are so popular and in demand in Croatia that the family has continuously expanded the vineyard area and the new winery building was completed in 2012 (see photo at the back). The local grape varieties Malvazija Istriana, Muscat Momiano and Teran play an important role, plus immigrants such as Sauvignon Blanc and the red Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot .
The wines come from two areas, the Valle Valley at the foot of Momjan and from the single vineyard Santa Lucia in Buje, which is considered one of the best wine regions in Croatia. The Kozlovic family uses this natural potential to make first-class wines that can stand up to any international comparison. They are also ambassadors full of character for their grape varieties and the beautiful Istria region.
The bestseller in the range is undoubtedly the Malvazija, which tastes excellent to many people with its engaging nature, beautiful density and structure. That's not the only thing you should try.
