The Counts of Neipperg have lived in Schwaigern in Wuerttemberg/Germany since the 12th century. Viticulture has been practiced there for generations. At the beginning of the 1970s, the family began to acquire vineyards in Bordeaux, which are now managed by Stephan Comte de Neipperg. These include Chateau Canon-La-Gaffeliere, La Mondotte, Clos l’Oratoire and Chateau Peyreau (all in Saint-Emilion), as well as Chateau d’Aiguilhe (Côtes de Castillon) and Clos Marsalette (Graves). Since 2006 it has also been involved in the Sauternes Chateau Guiraud winery.
All wines are produced at a very high level, the style is characterized by ripe grapes, which leads to opulent and full-bodied red wines that have a rather soft tannin structure. They are a very good buy in every price range.
