Mount Riley - New Zealand

Mount Riley is a family winery in Marlborough, New Zealand, founded in 1992 by John Buchanan. Today his daughter Amy runs the winery with her husband Matt who is the Chief Winemaker. In addition to the white wines from Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris, they have also developed an excellent reputation for Pinot Noir.

Gourmet Traveler Australia writes: "No visit to Marlborough is complete without a visit to Mount Riley's cellar door."

At Mont Riley, there are three wine categories. The Estate Range as fresh and uncomplicated everyday wines, Limited Release for higher qualities from particularly good parcels and 17 Valley as a premium line, which is only available in excellent years is bottled and is planted mainly with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

All Mount Riley lines are characterized by a remarkable price-performance ratio. Honorable mentions in Decanter magazine and Robert Parker's Wine Advocate underscore this.
