The Mount Riley Sauvignon Blanc Limited Release comes almost exclusively from vineyards in the warmer Wairau Valley in Marlborough, whose grapes have a particularly expressive fruit. The grapes are fermented cool in steel tanks to focus on the fruitiness. The result is a Sauvignon with the typical New Zealand exoticism, loud and cheerful, just like its fans like.
The Limited Release Sauvignon has a light straw yellow color with green reflections. Its intense scent is reminiscent of freshly mown grass, nettles, black currants, grapefruit and passion fruit. Its concentration carries it on the palate, the fresh acidity marbles the body, the wine finishes long and balanced. This Sauvignon from Mount Riley also has relatively little alcohol at 12.5% for today's times, which promotes freshness. We would prefer to enjoy it in its fruiting phase, which is expected to last until 2024 or 2025.
Joe Czerwinski tested the 2019 Sauvignon Limited Release for Robert Parker's Wine Advocate and praised the zesty nature of this exotic white wine. 89/100
