The Laurent Perrachon & Fils is based at the Domaine des Mouilles in Julienas, in the Beaujolais region. The family is the fifth generation of winery owners. Laurent Perrachon has been managing the estate since 1988 after learning his trade at Chateau Ausone in Saint-Emilion.
We are rightly proud of the production of a total of six different Beaujolais Crus, including of course the home of AOP Juliénas, plus Chénas, Fleurie, Morgon, Moulin-A-Vent and Saint-Amour. There is also Beaujolais AOP and Beaujolais Villages AOP.
Particularly good parcels or batches are bottled separately and then have a location name in addition to the AOP name. These wines are aged in wooden barrels for up to 18 months. The total area under vines is 26 hectares. Some plots of it have very old vines between 80 and 100 years old, which gives the wines a high substance.
The Perrachon wines do not have to be drunk young. They tolerate a few years in the cellar and develop positively in the bottle. The best wines and vintages easily last 10 years, sometimes much longer. The winery has received many awards, including "Coup de Coeur" from the French wine guide Guide Hachette. Decanter magazine gives the Morgon 2018 an impressive 91/100.
