The Bodegas Faustino is one of the great classics of the Rioja. The Faustino I label with Rembrandt's portrait of the businessman Nicolaes van Bambeeck is one of the best-known labels in Spain and optically expresses the tradition of the house.
Faustino was founded in 1861. The winery gained great importance when Don Faustino Martinez Perez took over in 1920, introduced barrique aging and bottling in-house and established the brand name. In his honor, Faustino Gran Reserva was introduced as a label in 1960.
In the 1980s, the fourth generation of the family took over and continued to expand the business. In the 1990s, other wineries were added, such as Bodegas Campillo, Marques de Vitoria and others in other Spanish wine-growing regions such as Ribera del Duero, Navarra and la Mancha.
The outstanding quality of Faustino wines is recognized worldwide. The Faustino I Gran Reserva 2001 was named Wine of the Year in 2013 by Decanter magazine. Bodegas Faustino have an extensive stock of old vintages, lots of which are released for sale from time to time. This gives you the opportunity to enjoy historic vintages from the best stored cellar reserve.
