The Faustino Rioja ICON Edition Especial Seleccion differs significantly in style from the other wines of the house. It is voluminous, juicy and less characterized by traditional aging aromas. It goes a little more in the direction of the top wines from Ribera del Duero. The French barriques in which the ICON Rioja was aged also contribute to this.
The Faustino ICON 2017 has a darker color than its more traditionally developed colleagues. The nose shows ripe dark berries and a fine note of wood from French barriques. Despite the outstanding concentration, the palate is very elegant, it has a really juicy taste without compromising freshness and drinkability, this is achieved by the polished tannins that make the wine lively and structured. An outstanding Rioja from Faustino, for us the best wine in the house.
You can enjoy this wine now, but it will also be able to age in the bottle for many years and develop positively. We recommend this subtle Rioja as an accompaniment to briefly fried meat, braised dishes, semi-hard cheeses and grilled dishes.
