From the Santa Cristina series by Zenato there is also this delicious Chardonnay, which is a very typical interpretation of this popular grape variety from Veneto. The vines, which are around 30 years old on average, grow south of Lake Garda, in the municipality of Peschiera, which belongs to the DOC Garda.
The wine is given a lot of time to mature, although no wooden barrels are used. The Chardonnay Garda sits on the fine lees in steel tanks for 4-5 months, after bottling it is held back for several months and left to rest in the bottle before delivery begins.
The Zenato Santa Cristina Chardonnay has a straw yellow color with greenish reflections. Its scent is reminiscent of yellow fruits with a delicate floral undertone. It is a real softie on the palate, the juicy fruit integrates all components perfectly, but the wine is still nice and fresh.
We particularly recommend it as an accompaniment to pasta with mushrooms, fish dishes and white meat. In general, however, this wine is hardly unfriendly to a meal, so it can also be enjoyed very well as an accompaniment to entire menus.
