The Zenato Soave Classico Colombara comes from the single vineyard Colombara, which is planted with 70% Garganega vines, supplemented with around 30% Chardonnay. The grapes grow on loess and marl soil at an altitude of around 250 meters above sea level and are harvested by hand. This bottling is more extractive and playful than Zenato's standard Soave. It matures for a very long time in steel tanks on the fine lees, which is why it is only released in the middle of the year following the vintage.
The Zenato Soave Classico Colombara is a charming and balanced white wine that has freshness but also creates a creamy mouthfeel thanks to the Chardonnay. It has nice substance on the palate and more punch than one usually expects from base wines of this name. Aromatically it is reminiscent of white fruits such as apple, pear and also citrus fruits. The price is more than pleasing for what is offered.
