The Grifoll family has been growing wine in the Spanish part of Catalonia since 1736. For a long time for personal use and from 1880 as our own winery. In 1994, Roger Grifoll filled the first bottles himself, which was the step towards founding a self-marketing winery. Since 2001 the wines have been under the name Grifoll Declara, after the name of the current owners. Everything here is highly professional and enriched with a lot of specialist knowledge, including through the apprenticeship at the famous Priorato winery Alvaro Palacios. This class is immediately noticeable in the wines.
Wine Enthusiast Magazine ranks Grifoll Declara among the 28 best wineries in Spain. The nice thing about it is the decidedly consumer-friendly price level of the Grifoll Declara collection. The base wine El Gos is under €10 a bottle, the first Priorat is available for under €15 and the top Priorat Gran Predicat is also well under €50 a bottle.
