Costières de Nimes is located at the estuary area of the Rhône river, in the Camargue. Here Michel Gassier, winemaker in the fourth generation, grows his wines, where he attaches great importance to freshness and drinkability. He describes himself as a farmer and as a researcher, connected to the country and the tradition and at the same time always outside the box, in search of improvement in exchange with winemakers from all over the world. Michel Gassier is a flagship of the AOC Costieres de Nimes and a profound connoisseur of his various soils and climatic influences, as well as the matching grape varieties. His wines are individual creations that express the grape variety and the terroir. To preserve nature for future generations is the ultimate goal. The conversion to organic cultivation was therefore the logical consequence.
The press is full of praise, for Robert Parker Michel Gassier is one of the region's most driven, hard-working and talented winemakers. The Washington Post published a detailed article on the work of Michel Gassier in the Costières de Nimes. The Wine Spectator chose Gassier 2016 as one of the 10 French wineries with the best price-quality ratio!
