The Domaine Coste Chaude is located on the southern Rhône, in the Côtes du Rhône-Villages AOP Visan. It borders Vinsobres to the west and lies north of Cairanne and Rasteau. Due to its relatively high altitude of around 350 meters, it is one of the cooler origins in this warm growing region. Therefore, not only excellent red wine grows here, but also excellent white wine.
The stony marl soils of Visan are reminiscent of its famous neighbor Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The average age of the vines at this winery is around 40 years. Grenache Noir is the dominant red variety, with Syrah and a little Mourvedre added. The white wine consists of the grape varieties Roussanne, Viognier and Grenache Blanc.
Coste Chaude is the life's work of Swiss-born Marianne Fues, who handed the estate over to her successor Vincent Tramier, a qualified lawyer, in 2018. The wines of Domaine Coste Chaude have been certified organic since 2014.
