The Côtes-du-Rhône Village "Madrigal" of the Domaine Coste Chaude consists of 80% Grenache vines that are around 50 years old and 20% from Syrah, which is already a remarkable 35 years old. The vines grow on a 360-meter-high plateau in the town of Visan, on very stony soil, as is also known from its famous neighbor Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Yields are very low at 20 to 30 hl per hectare, which promotes the concentration of this soft wine.

After fermentation, the Madrigal is aged in concrete tanks for eight months, as is traditionally done in the southern Rhône, in order to gently ripen the Grenache Noir, which is susceptible to oxidation.

The Côtes-du-Rhône Madrigal has a bright red color. Its intense scent is reminiscent of wild berries, accompanied by notes of cocoa and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate it is very supple, the fine tannins give the long finish a pleasant freshness for a wine from the southern Rhône. A beautiful wine from Domaine Coste Chaude, organically grown according to DEMETER regulations.
