Dominio Basconcillos is a family winery, located at an altitude of 1000m, which gives the wines a cool elegance. Here, Tinta del País, as the Tempranillo is called in the Ribera del Duero, is grown organically, although not all wines are certified organic, as there is the option of buying Cabernet from warmer vineyards in cooler years to give the wines more body.
"If you look after and understand the nature, you can achieve the best product." Is the motto of nature lover José María Basconcillos and his two daughters Maria José and Carmen. Fermentation is done consistently without added yeasts in order to obtain a natural expression of the terroir. To emphasize the delicacy of the wines, only French oak is used in the barrique barrels.
