The Chablis 1er Cru Montmains is located on the left bank of the Serein River, which crosses the Chablis vineyards. Here the wines are cooler, fresher, more floral and have a better grip than on the right bank of the river in the wine-growing region.

The 2019 vintage, however, produced unusually substantial, almost opulent Chablis, the abundance of which is sometimes reminiscent of the Côte d'Or. This is very well balanced by Jean-Marc Brocard's Montmain location with its cool minerality. The wine has a great density and structure, but always appears fresh and very subtle. White flowers, citrus notes such as grapefruit and a light note of fennel can be found. The crystal-clear style is also due to the expansion in steel tanks, wood is not used here. You can drink it now, but you can certainly store it in the cellar for another 7-8 years without hesitation (cautious estimate). Here you can feel the magic of a Cool-Climate Chardonnay.

This noble white wine is also an excellent accompaniment to seafood and fish dishes, light meat with cream sauce, poultry or vegetable casseroles (fennel!) also go very well here.
