The 2011 Salzl Zweigelt Neusiedlersee DAC won its category in the DAC wine test from “Profil.at”. The 2020 vintage is currently available, a fully ripe year with powerful and precise red wines that produce a juicy mouthfeel. Flavors such as plum compote, blackberries and blueberries can be found, as well as figs and cassis. On the palate it shows its fullness, everything is round like a ball, the tannins almost completely disappear into the exuberant fruit. In terms of body, the Zweigelt Selection DAC is roughly on the same level as the Salzl Zweigelt Reserve, but without its wood note.
