The Caliterra Merlot Reserva grows in Colchagua Valley, a two hours by car south of the capital Santiago, Chile. 5% of the Malbec variety is added to the wine to get a delicate violet hint and to give the soft Merlot a plus in structure. After the fermentation, 30% of the wine is stored for 7-9 months in used barriques , which gives it a discreet wood note and increases the taste tension.
