White Corton Grand Cru is extremely rare and little known. It grows mainly in the vineyards Vergennes and Languettes and, like its fwell known neighbor Corton-Charlemagne, is 100% Chardonnay wine. Chanson is one of the two principal owners in the Corton Vergennes, named after the Earl of Vergennes, the of Foreign Minister under King Louis XVI and former owner of this vineyard.
This Grand Vin is fermented in small oak barrels and aged for 12 months. It has a distinctive character and is said to have a slightly salty mineral note. Typical of a white Burgundy are the aromas of butter and hazelnut, the wine has a wonderful depth and a long-lasting finale with a lot of grip and the best balance.
