The Beaune Clos des Mouches 1er Cru is one of the very best four locations in Beaune, the "capital" of the Côte d'Or, for white wines it is probably the best. Its sun-kissed vineyard has the optimal orientation to the south-east, like all the really big vineyards in Burgundy. Located in the south of the AOC, Clos des Mouches borders on the Pommard Premier Crus. The vineyard got its name from bees that used to have their hives there. With 4.5 hectares, Chanson is the most important owner of this top vineyard after Joseph Drouhin.
2021 is a rather cool and beautifully elegant vintage for high-quality white Burgundies. The wines have substance and freshness, are perfectly balanced and will have a long development time. The Clos des Mouches Chanson 2021 has a light golden yellow color. Its floral scent is enhanced by white fruits and citrus notes, it smells mineral-cool and with a fine wood note from the glass (it's best to use a large Burgundy glass, like for red Burgundies. On the palate, the wine has a lot of tension and this fine elegance Precision, which has helped white Burgundies achieve world fame and is a role model for many Chardonnay winemakers in other regions. Great and long-lasting.
