In 1748 , Antoine Quiot acquired his first 8 hectares of land in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape area. By purchasing and marrying, the family's property expanded rapidly. At the beginning of the 19th century the wines were marketed in bottles and barrels. The Domaine Vieux Lazaret, named after an old hospital, has been the headquater of the Quiot family since the middle of the 19th century. Since then, other wineries and estates have been added to the Rhône and Provence (Chateau Astros).
