Cascina Corte is the estate of Alessandro Barosi and Amalia Battaglia. In 2001 they bought the dilapidated property on which old Dolcetto vines are planted. From the first year on, they farmed everything organically. Today Barbera and Nebbiolo have joined the Dolcetto grapes, but the Dolcetto still plays the main role, however, it is the star in Dogliani. In the very high-altitude vineyards this early maturing grape grows perfectly and gives the best results, some even claim as good as nowhere else in Piedmont. They work with only small amounts of sulfur here, the style of the wines is structured and made for a longer aging period.
