"Sauvage" means wild, untamed. It is the name of the dry Riesling Gutswein from the Georg Breuer winery in Rüdesheim in the Rheingau. The grapes for this wine come from various Rheingau vineyards with stony, loamy soils with quartzite and slate.

The 2022 Riesling Sauvage from Weingut Breuer is simply adorable. Incredibly animating, engaging, crystal clear and with a lot of fruity charm and fullness. A top price-enjoyment value!

Tasting note Frank Rembold March 2023: intensive Riesling nose, open and animating. An impressive entry-level wine, juicy, tasty, surprisingly full-bodied. Many wineries in higher categories do not achieve this so perfectly. Combines drinking fun and elegance. I'm sure I'll have it in my glass more often in 2023.
