The Côtes-du-Rhône-Villages les Cassagnes from Château la Nerthe is also available in the impressive magnum bottle (1.5L). This top Côtes-du°rhône grows in the Tavel area and is prepared with the same care and passion as its brothers from Chateauneuf-du-Pape. It contains a rather large portion of Syrah (around 30%), which gives the Grenache strength and aroma, and some Mourvedre is also used.
2020 is another outstanding vintage in the southern Rhône, stylistically perhaps a mixture of the charming 2018 vintage and powerful and tannic 2019s. First-class winemakers are at work here, which this wine impressively shows with its depth and balance at a very high level. An opulent Rhône red wine, as it is in the book. Organically grown.
