The Riesling Grosses Gewächs Felsenberg shows on the label a small tower that stands above the Dönnhoff plot. This is why this wine is often referred to as a "Felsentürmchen". The official name of this GG vineyard is Felsenberg.
2021 was a rather cool vintage with crystal-clear and grippy wines, which results in an almost dashing minerality in the already elegant Felsenberg. This rock tower from the Hermann Dönnhoff winery needs a few years in the bottle to show its full potential. A Riesling that promises at least two decades of first-class drinking pleasure.
This wine is rated 96/100 by Parker's Wine Advocate. The magazine Falstaff even gives it 97/100 and writes: "Grapey in the scent, dried lemon peel, becoming more and more floral in the glass. In the mouth the wine shows a stunning saltiness, the profound extract is dissolved in a very fine form, the acidity shines without being too strong bite. Furious!."
