The Côtes-du-Rhône Villages comes from the Perrin family's own vineyards and is grown and matured with the same care as the wines from Chateau de Beaucastel. Only about 20% of the Côtes-du-Rhône production is allowed to have the addition "Villages" on the label, which is reserved for communities with particularly good vineyards.
2019 was a great vintage in the southern Rhône, the wines show a lot of power, extract and substance. Especially in this price range you can find a lot of wine for the money, even more than in normal years. The Villages 2019 shows a darker, crimson color. The scent is of considerable aromatic complexity, with notes of dark berries, pepper and herbal spices. On the palate it shows a lot of substance, it is round but also has a nice structure and balance. It shows aromas of blackberries, plums and liquorice in the long-lasting finale.
