New to us is the Perrin family's Côtes-du-Rhône Réserve as a rosé.
This present and at the same time fresh rosé wine from the southern Rhône Valley consists of the local red wine grapes Cinsault, Grenache Noir, Mourvèdre and Syrah. These grow near the town of Orange, in a single location called Le Grand Prebois. The aging takes place in stainless steel tanks, which best preserves the freshness of a rosé wine.
In keeping with the modern rosé style, Perrin's Côtes-du-Rhône has a light pink color. Its lively scent is reminiscent of red berries, nectarines and a hint of meadow flowers. On the palate it is generous, supple but also elegant. Due to its intensity, you can also drink it really cold and still have an intense taste on the palate. Like everything from the Famille Perrin, this wine is perfectly made and simply delicious.
