The Champagne Brut Réserve Grand Cru from Mailly is the ambassador of the winery. 480 parcels, all classified as Grand Cru, are available for this cuvée.
The Brut Reserve de Mailly Grand Cru consists of 75 percent Pinot Noir and 25 percent Chardonnay. The pigeons used for this are of course carefully harvested by hand. After the fermentation to the base wine, the second fermentation to the sparkling wine follows. This has a beautiful golden yellow color and iridescent reflections. The fruity notes on the nose are reminiscent of Mirabelle plums and pears, and these fruity notes reappear in the long-lasting finish. This full-bodied and charming champagne is lively and elegant with a subtle note of brioche. A lot of champagne for the money!
The trade press appreciates this delicious champagne with 91/100 points from Wine Enthusiast and Wine Spectator, as well as 16.5/20 from the strictly evaluating Jancis Robinson. High praise everywhere you look.
Tasting note Frank Rembold Jan. 2023: "Green-yellow colour, fine bubbles rise. A fine note of yeast on the nose, reminiscent a little of an oven-fresh croissant, with a hint of hazelnut in the fragrance. Good fullness on the palate, a full-bodied champagne with Pressure in the extract and a considerable length in the finale. A real announcement for a basic champagne that only Grand Cru vineyards are contained here, you can tell. Wow!"
